Hi, I'm Bianca Jarvis—a fitness trainer, artist, and art educator based in Minneapolis, MN.

Protein Baby was born from my deep connection to lifting, gym culture, and community. I moved to Minneapolis, MN in 2015 to pursue my MFA in Printmaking at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. During that two-year grad program, I got a gym membership at Los Campeones Uptown and stumbled into a fitness community that made me feel like I had roots here. Over the last five years I split my time between teaching high school drawing classes at MCAD and coaching in-person clients. The through-line in both my teaching career and my personal training business is a love of sharing information — encouraging people to move, make, and find methods and tools that actually feel sustainable. These experiences have shown me again and again how important it is to have a third space: one that pushes you to prioritize your health and make time for yourself. The gym and fitness community I've found here has become a second home, and it's shaped the way I train and coach.
In 2017, I competed in my first powerlifting meet, and after a long break, I've started competing again in 2025-26. My own training and competition experience has changed how I understand what it means to train with real intention — building strength takes time, moving well and recovering from injury takes time, and learning to trust the process takes time. That approach sits at the core of how I work with clients.
I believe in building a strong foundation through the basics — squat, press, hinge — while collaborating closely with each person to address their specific needs. The focus is always on technique, consistency, and understanding why you're doing what you're doing in the gym.
In our sessions, we'll work on establishing proper technique and repeatability. You'll learn to lift safely, use equipment properly, move with purpose, and build the confidence and knowledge to train for the long term. Sessions currently take place at Status Strength & Fitness in St. Louis Park, MN.

Jess Bailey

“… I was comfortable with bianca from the moment i met her. She is so kind and supportive, quick to point out and celebrate your growth, and is flexible to work with what feels good for your body on any given day. My back problems and the unevenness in my body have diminished drastically since i started working with her. She makes the gym enjoyable, rather than a chore. I literally mention her anytime fitness is mentioned in conversation, and i recommend her to everyone.”

“I have been training with Bianca for approximately 2 years.  Not only has Bianca been my trainer, but she has come to be a friend who has taught me a lot about fitness, my own body and strength.  Bianca is body positive which is extremely important to me being a plus size woman.  She consistently checks in on how I am feeling when I start new workouts, and ensures I am using appropriate body mechanics.  I feel I receive the right level of coaching to push my limits and to expand my fitness goals. Bianca is good at sharing feedback and acknowledging when she sees my progress, no matter how small.  I also struggle with some gym intimidation, and she has always made me feel comfortable and acknowledges my concerns if I feel uneasy. I have never had a trainer with such genuine interest in my success and happiness, which is one of the reasons I continue my fitness journey with her. I look forward to our sessions together and appreciate all that I learn from our time together. I highly recommend Bianca as a trainer with her expertise and approach to fitness no matter if you are a beginner or master.”
